How we calculate your numbers.
Numerology is arithmetic first. Here is exactly what we do with your birthday and your name, so you can check us.
The numbers we compute
- Life Path — your birth date reduced: month, day and year are each reduced to one digit (keeping 11, 22 and 33 whole), then added and reduced again. This is the method most Western numerologists use (the “Decoz” method).
- Birthday number — the day of the month you were born, reduced.
- The number in your name (Expression) — every letter of your full birth name mapped to 1–9 (A=1 … I=9, J=1 … R=9, S=1 … Z=8), summed and reduced.
- Your Heart number (Soul Urge) — only the vowels of your name. Personality — only the consonants. We treat Y as a vowel when it is not next to another vowel.
- Maturity — Life Path plus Expression, reduced. Rare numbers — master numbers 11/22/33 are kept whole; karmic debts 13/14/16/19 are flagged when they appear before reduction.
- Personal Year / Month / Day — your birth month and day added to the current year, month and day. Personal week is our own, smaller construct: the personal month combined with the week of the month.
- Chapters of your life (Pinnacles and Challenges) — four long periods derived from your month, day and year, with the standard age boundaries (first pinnacle ends at 36 minus your Life Path).
- Door number — the digits (and letters, A=1…) of your house or flat number, summed. Phone — all digits summed; we keep only the result, never the number.
Seven old ways of counting
Beyond the Pythagorean (Greek) method above, we also compute: the Chaldean (Babylonian) name number with its 1–8 letter values; the Vedic birth number (mulank) and destiny number (bhagyank) with their planet rulers; the Chinese reading of the digits in your birthday (8 grows, 4 is avoided); a Kabbalistic gematria of your name (an approximation from Latin letters); your Celtic tree sign from the tree calendar; and your Tarot birth card from the digit sum of your date. Where they agree, we say so. Where they differ, you see why.
What the words are
The numbers are exact arithmetic. The written reading is composed by an AI writer from those numbers and a fixed set of instructions we wrote: plain words, no predictions, no promises. We say so on every reading. Numerology is for reflection and entertainment — it is not advice, and we never use it to make decisions about you.
